Model Nadia Forde compares becoming a new mum to having a brain transplant

Irish model Nadia Forde has compared motherhood for the first time to "having a brain transplant".

The 30-year-old gave birth to her daughter, Wyatt Winnie Day, last October and married Dominic Day in a gorgeous Italian ceremony in June.

Nadia told Virgin Media's Ireland AM: "I am very much in a love bubble it's been an incredible year for me personally, it's just been amazing, it's so nice to be home today."

"I think having a baby is like having a brain transplant, you know you are never the same ever again, from the moment you find out you're pregnant," she continued.

"And I really just want to be as involved in Wyatt's life as I can be." The spoke candidly about the difference between a relationship and a marriage;

 "I really came to the whole wedding thing knowing what was important, getting married and the meaning behind it and having a great day with my loved ones."

"We kept it quite small and just just our closest, we got married in Italy and I think having Wyatt really made me not worry about the napkins or the plates or that kind of stuff," she added.

She seems to be adoring life as a wife and new mum; "It was kind of like, is everyone who I love there? Are we having a good time?

"And it does feel different. Everyone said to me do you feel different now that you're married? And I do, I do, it's lovely."

The model was promoting the TK Maxx 'Give Up Your Clothes For Good' campaign, and explained why sustainable fashion means so much to her.

"I think since becoming a mum I am very aware of the world I am leaving for her, what kind of world am I bringing her into.

"TK Maxx want people to go into their wardrobes to get out the clothes they don't want anymore and donate then and everything goes to Enable Ireland.

"It is supporting sustainable fashion, it is encouraging people to do that clear out, to start fresh."
