When you’re giving birth in an emergency situation, you need all help you can get, even if it’s coming from strangers. Thankfully, for one woman in the US, a Good Samaritan came to her rescue in her time of need this week – and she honoured her in the most meaningful way.

Pregnant Sheera Lowe was travelling on a train home to New York, after visiting her husband who recently moved away for a new job, when she began having contractions. While her due date was set at March 4, the mother-of-one was sure that baby number two was on its way.

Worried about giving birth alone and in such dramatic circumstances, Sheera moved into the café car of the train and looked for the closest person who was not preoccupied with earphones and gadgets – and her gaze landed upon a woman named Christina.

After approaching Christina and asking her for help, the café car was cleared and the train conductor was notified of the situation. Paramedics soon made their way onto the train, and baby girl Trinity was born shortly after.

Weighing in at 8lbs 5oz, little Trinity was wrapped in aluminium foil and tissues from the train to keep warm – and given a very special middle name: Christina, after her mother’s ‘guardian angel’.

Speaking to The Washington Post about Christina’s importance during her time of need, mum-of-two Sheera said: “She wouldn’t leave my side in the whole thing. I’m so happy and so grateful she stayed.”

What a gorgeous gesture for one very deserving woman.

SHARE to warm the heart of a fellow mum this evening.
