It was only a few weeks ago when three newborn little girls made the headlines around the world, and now three tiny little boys have stolen our hearts.

An Iowa woman is enjoying double-celebrations this month, after giving birth to identical triplet sons. As we reported in last month’s story, this type of scenario is incredibly rare, occurring in only one in a million births.

Bridget Hogan welcomed her three beautiful tots on November 3, with her story gaining national and international attention this week. All three boys were born at 35 weeks and were conceived naturally.

Bridget, who is also mum to two other children, opened up to local media about how life has changed with three newborns to look after.

“It’s been around-the-clock 24-hour care, bottles every two hours. Just eating, changing, dressing, and doing it over again,” she told KCRG-TV.

Admitting that she was completely taken aback to find out she was expecting triplets in the first place, Bridget added: “It’s crazy. We have a two-year-old. We were happy with one, and then two was exciting, but we didn’t picture a family of six.”

Dr Stephen Hunter, the Director of Maternal and Foetal Medicine at the University of Iowa Hospital where Bridget gave birth, said he has only seen a handful of identical triplet births in his 26-year career.

Congratulations to Bridget and the family.
