As one Instagrammer said during the week, sometimes you’ve got to do what you’ve got to do, and one US mother has become an internet sensation for following this mantra.

Ohio woman Margaret Ellen Bradford took to Facebook to share a photo of herself nursing her six-month-old baby, while cheering on US Senator Bernie Sanders at a recent rally.

Tagging chat show host Ellen DeGeneres in the hope that she will arrange a photo opportunity for her with Sanders, Bradford shared a post containing the powerful image to Facebook.

Recounting the moment at the rally, Bradford wrote: “While there, she got hungry like babies do, and unbeknownst to me at the time a reporter took this photo of us. After the rally, Bernie and Jane O’Meara Sanders both thanked me for doing what mothers do and taking care of my daughter when she needed her mom, even if that meant nursing in public!”

Amazingly, Bradford went on to admit that she had received “a lot of hate mail and a lot more love mail” over the image, but she is focused now on one thing: getting her photo-opp with Sanders!

Fair play to this woman for making such a powerful statement and ignoring the haters.

SHARE to empower other mothers with this incredible photo.
