If you're in need of a little pick-me-up, then feast your eyes on an upload which has delighted millions of social media users across the world in recent days.
The footage shows the moment 16-year-old Ben Davis, who lives with a rare condition known as Pantothenate Kinase-Associated Neurodegeneration, was 'promposed' to during a school pep rally in Michigan.
Being led to centre court, Ben was left stunned as his friend Vee Nguyen asked him to accompany her to the senior prom in a moment which is sure to remain etched in the minds of all those present for years to come.
Speaking to the Detroit Free Press, Vee opened up about her friendship with Ben, saying: "I started talking to Ben and seeing him every day. I would eat lunch with him and we would have short conversations since it's hard for him to speak."
"I thought doing it at the pep rally where there are a lot of students would be a great idea to spread the message and to let others know that no one should be treated any different," she explained as she reflected on the bond she shares with Ben whom she met in 2014.
Paying tribute to her dear friend, Vee finished: "Appearance will eventually get old, but personality is what make a person beautiful,"
