By now, you are probably SICK to death of hearing about everyone's new diets and exercise routines.
'New year, new me' - yes, until halfway through February when you can no longer be arsed eating lettuce for lunch.
Anyway, with that in mind, I decided to come up with some alternative resolutions - that you will actually want to keep!
Have a gawk, and tell us what you think:
1. Spend more time outside
No, I am not saying you should all be hiking up and down mountains a couple of times a week - but fresh air does the body good. Can you walk home from work? Or even get off the bus a few stops early to breathe in the air.
2. Learn a language
Easier said than done, I have no doubt. But have you ever found yourself wishing that you kept up with French or Spanish after you left school? I myself passed my French Leaving Cert exam, and then forgot every single bit of the language. Why not revive your skill? Or start fresh with a completely new language? Your brain will thank you.
3. Less screen time
Listen, I totally get it. You get home from work after a long bloody day, and all you want to do is plonk yourself in front of the TV, or get into bed and watch Netflix on your laptop. Why not make that a weekend treat? And instead of binge watching shows mid week, go for a lovely walk or read a book? Or even listen to your favourite music!
4. Read more
When was the last time you read a book (excluding those that you read on holiday)? Life can sometimes take over, and we forget to sit back with a cup of tea and a great story! Read more in 2018, sure, its good for you.
5. Do something you've been avoiding
This is going to sound really embarrassing, but I have not passed my driving test (please, no judging!) ANYWAY, I have made a vow that this year I will sit that blasted test, and get that sweet, sweet green licence.
6. De-clutter
Is your wardrobe bursting with things that you genuinely have not worn since the nineties? Same. Now might just be the time to ditch all the stuff you don't actually use. Clear out your clutter this year, you definitely won't regret it!
