Pretty Woman star Richard Gere and his wife Alejandra Silva have confirmed they are expecting their first child together.
The pair announced the news with the help of none other than the Dalai Lama.
Mum-to-be Alejandra shared quite the special photo on Instagram. She posted a snap of her and husband Richard Gere with the Dalai Lama.
He blessed the business woman’s stomach during the special meeting.
She captioned the photo: “A very special moment just a few minutes ago... Getting blessings for our precious to come.”
Alejandra added: “We couldn’t say it before telling HH Dalai Lama.”
Fans quickly congratulated the pair: “Congratulations on your new journey to being new parents I wish you love, light and much blessings. I pray that your child is born healthy and happy.”
“Congratulations! I can’t wait to meet baby Gere,” one wrote.
Another added: “I am so happy for your baby and for both of you.”
The pair dated for four years before saying ‘I do’ at the 69-year-old’s ranch just outside of New York. Richard and Alejandro married in an Indian-inspired ceremony in April, 2018.
The Shall We Dance actor shares an 18-year-old son with his ex-wife Carey Lowell. Alejandra also has a five-year-old son named Albert from her previous marriage.
