Singer Paloma Faith appeared on Good Morning Britain today and shared that she won't make her child's gender known to the public.

The English songstress gave birth to her little one in December 2016 in an emergency c-section. The 36-year-old and her boyfriend Leyman Lahcine are very private about their precious bundle of joy.

When she does speak about her child, though, the pop musician prefers the gender-neutral pronoun 'they'.

"I refer to bubba as 'they' – only in interviews. Not in my private life, then I refer to the gender," the mum-of-one said on the programme.

When asked why she does so, the songwriter had a brilliant answer.

"I just don’t believe celeb culture is a particularly healthy environment for a child so I try and keep that separate," she observed.

It's heartening to see how protective Paloma is, as the chart-topping artist no doubt knows the struggles that come with being in the limelight.

The 'Can't Rely on You' singer also discussed her strong feminist beliefs on Good Morning Britain, saying, "I'm 100 percent a feminist."

"My whole belief system is centred upon equality for all human being and I believe in basic human rights," she continued, "And I think that women - all races, all shapes, sizes, creeds, everything - deserve that respect."

The artist said that people in Western society tend to underestimate how far we have to go when it comes to gender equality.

"Often when people are talking about feminism they're kind of comparing it to other areas of the world where they've got further to go and saying, 'Well we don't have any sexism issues in this culture'. But actually, that's not true," Paloma stated.

Her feminist values come into play as a parent especially because, as she noted, 'when you become a parent everything makes you look outward and makes you think what do I want to teach'.

She sweetly said, "My heart sings when I see little boys pushing buggies because that means they’re learning about being caring."

We bet Paloma's child will grow up to be just as passionate as their fiery mum!
