We all know the importance of a good role model for our kids - whether they are family, friends or even someone on TV it’s always good to have someone to look up to.

However, with so many celebrities around these days, there are definitely a few that we would rather our kids didn’t take after. And a recent study conducted by vouchercoud.com has found out exactly who parents think are the worst celebrity role models for their kids.

The study asked 2,287 British parents, with at least one child under the age of ten, which celebrity they were more concerned about leading their child astray – with Miley Cyrus nabbing the top spot for females and Kanye West at number one in the male category.

Nicki Minaj (55%) and Justin Bieber (55%) took second place in their relevant categories, with Kim Kardashian and Zayn Malik both, surprisingly, coming in third.

Talking about Miley Cyrus being crowned the worst female influencer, Chris Johnson Head of Operations at vouchercloud.com, said: "She started out as the perfect teen idol in Hannah Montana and then when she reached a certain age, she decided to rid herself of the clean-teen image. Parents tend to have high hopes for their children and it's typically not a parent's dream for them to prance around with not a lot of clothes on, partying their lives away. "

Surprisingly, 36% of those surveyed also feel that actress Kristen Stewart and Joey Essex (25%) are bad role models, with Rihanna and Shia LaBeouf also featuring in the top five worst influencers.

The female celebrities that parents feel are a positive influence aren't that surprising however, with Kate Middleton getting first place followed by Michelle Keegan, Taylor Swift, Beyoncé and Angelina Jolie. Singer Ed Sheeran nabbed the top spot in the male category, followed by Harry Styles, Lewis Hamilton, James Corden and Justin Timberlake.

At the end of the day, as Chris says: “Each parent is individual in their wants and needs for their own children, but ultimately the child will turn out to be the person they want to be and will make their own decisions.”
