Sameer Sabir and Nada Siddiqui, parents of Rehma, the one-year-old who passed away while she was in the care of Irish nanny Aisling Brady McCarthy, are set to sue to "prevent her from profiting from their daughter’s death."

Reham passed away in Boston in 2013, and Aisling was charged with her murder, charges that were dropped last year, after she spent 27 months in prison.

The one-year-old died from sudden catastrophic brain swelling and bleeding, and her parents have confirmed to the Boston Globe that they have filed a wrongful death suit against their former nanny.

Explain their reasoning behind the suit, Nada said: "Sameer and I want to emphasize that our purpose in filing this suit is to prevent Aisling McCarthy from profiting from our daughter’s death."

“We lost our beautiful little girl in very difficult circumstances, and feel compelled to bring this suit to protect her memory.”

This is their first major public statement since their little girl died, requesting all questions be diverted to their attorney.

The couple have explained that they are not doing it for money, but rather to prevent Aisling from profiting from their daughter’s death through, according to the publication, "such ventures as book deals or movie contracts."
