After two “brutal” pregnancies, Sarah Olson and her husband, David, decided to adopt their third child. They had previously been trying for another baby for eight months, to no avail; and they were desperate to add to their brood.
Having suffered a string of disappointments whereby their potential matches were placed with other families, the Olsons finally got the call they were hoping and praying for this week.
After making childcare arrangements for their two sons, they made the trip to collect the newest addition to their family – and brought friend and photographer Kristen Prosser along to capture their first precious moments with their little one.
Kristen’s photos have been making headlines around the world, with the beautiful scenes showing the joy and elation that their new daughter has brought the family.
Explaining the meaning behind their little one’s name, Tilly Pearl, doting dad David said: “Tilly means ‘strength through adversity’. We have a deep connection with that statement. Pearl means ‘a precious thing, the finest example of something.’”
Sharing their photos with local news media, the couple also wrote a special message: “Thank you to the birth mums that choose life for their children. Thank you to the adoptive parents that sacrifice to bring children home into their forever families.”
