Claire Brosnan BA, PG Dip. Play Therapy - Play therapist and trainee child and adolescent psychotherapist
I am located Bishopstown but service the wider Cork City area. I am a recently qualified play therapist from the Children’s Therapy Centre in Westmeath, Ireland’s leading play therapy college. In addition to being a play therapist, I am a trainee child and adolescent psychotherapist.
In my practice I offer one-to- one play therapy services to clients. I also provide “support work” and advice for parents during the intake and review process. In addition, I am a certified Teleplay Therapy practitioner which allows me to provide online play therapy sessions if required. Prior to embarking on a career as a play therapist, I worked as a Special Needs Assistant in both primary and secondary schools.
I have more than 15 years’ experience working with children and adolescents with additional needs. I have worked extensively with children with autism, intellectual and physical disabilities, mental health issues and behavioural issues. Having the required qualifications and experience with working with children, I can adopt a compassionate and intuitive approach to working with children with a variety of needs.
I am fully insured and pre-accredited by IAPTP (Irish Association Play Therapists and Psychotherapists).
