You can do your level best to prepare for all emergencies with a child, but sometimes matters are completely out of your hands – which is when the help of others and a little stroke of luck can really come in handy.

This proved to be the case for one family in Florida, US this week, when a pair of police officers searching an area for a suspect managed to save the life of a ‘dying’ three-week-old baby.

According to reports, Officers Dylan Hayes-Morrison and Amanda Cummings were on duty looking for a suspect in an unrelated case, when a frantic stranger approached them and handed over the baby.

A police spokesman said that the baby boy was red in the face and not breathing, and had apparently choked on formula.

The officers leapt into action immediately, clearing the child’s airways to allow him to breathe once again. An ambulance was called in the meantime, and the baby was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The police spokesman, speaking in a statement, heaped praise on the officers for their quick-thinking “to provide life-saving measures to a dying infant”.

We hope that the tot is recovering well after the frightening ordeal.

SHARE to acknowledge these police officers’ incredible work.
