No one is exempt from the law, but eyebrows were still raised this week when footage of a US deputy sheriff pulling his own wife over for a driving violation was shared online.
Mike Wiggington, Deputy Sheriff of the Orange County Police Department in California, and his wife have become viral online sensations after coming up with a very unique way to share their baby news!
In a video captured by the couple, Mrs Wiggington is seen slowing down and complaining over being pulled over to the side of the road. When her (smirking) husband Mike approaches, he informs her that she has broken a rule of the road – driving in the carpool lane without another passenger.
Mrs Wiggington insists that she is not in the wrong however, and all becomes clear when Mike asks for her licence and registration – and she hands over a sign announcing her pregnancy!
“Baby Wiggington arriving September 2016,” reads the sign, held up by the doting dad-to-be.
The video was shared on the Department’s official Facebook page and, as you can imagine, people have been going crazy for the sweet announcement. Check it out below.
