Nigel Casey, the British High Commissioner in South Africa, has let slip that Prince Harry and Meghan will visit South Africa this October.
The representative of Queen Elizabeth II in the former British colony held a press conference to mark the queen's 93rd birthday, and leaked the plans.
Baby Archie will only be four months old by then, but it has yet to be confirmed whether the tot will join his parents on their tour.
Local media in South Africa posted the news, but Buckingham Palace refused to comment about the travel plans of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Jacaranda News posted the news, displaying a video of a Nigel Casey at the press conference predicting a "great" visit. South Africa is one of dozens of nations in the Commonwealth.
"I predict a hat and frock buying frenzy...which could restore economic growth all on its own," Casey joked. "We're hugely looking forward to that and thanks in anticipation for that and all the support that I know we're going to receive."
The palace usually waits until the Foreign and Commonwealth Office signs off on the announcement before declaring details of a royal visit.
The Daily Mail are claiming that the Sussex trip will go beyond South Africa, with possible stops in Bangladesh, India, Malaysia, Singapore and Sri Lanka.
The Sun reported last week that Harry and Meghan will go to Angola during the fall tour to continue Princess Diana's campaign against landmines through the anti-landmine Halo Trust.
"Landmines are a humanitarian issue—not a political one...The fact that demining funding has been reduced by nearly 90% over the last decade is pretty shocking & we hope that today will encourage those countries not to leave a job left half done." Harry is a royal patron for the Halo Trust, which his mother was hugely dedicated to.
Harper's Bazaar also reported last month that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would stop down in Malawi to support the African children's charity, Sentebale, which Harry set up with Prince Seeiso of Lesotho.
The Sunday Times went a step further in May, reporting the royal duo would not only visit Africa but they would even move there for a few years. Harry has always been open about his love for the continent.
The pair visited Botswana in 2017 while they were dating, and apparently honeymooned in East Africa, so it's close to their hearts.
Their last major tour was last October, when they visited New Zealand, Tonga, Australia and Figi. Meghan and Harry are both youth ambassadors to the Commonwealth, and have many royal duties there.
