Not a day goes by when we don’t hear about The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, but we tend not to get too much insight into life for Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie these days.

The princesses lead very interesting lives, and recently, Beatrice opened up about her relationship with her mother, Sarah Ferguson.

In an interview with Hello! magazine, the 29-year-old described her beloved mother as ‘probably one of the most misunderstood women in the world’.

Fergie has found herself at the centre of many a tabloid drama, from her divorce from Prince Andrew to that time an arrest warrant was issued by Turkey’s Ministry of Justice (she was accused of trespass and invasion of privacy for filming footage in an orphanage).

As far as her relationship with her eldest daughter goes, however, it seems Fergie has imparted a wealth of life lessons.

“We’ve been through some incredibly stressful times together as a family, and every single minute she created joy,” said Beatrice, describing Fergie as her ‘best friend’.

“I am so lucky that I get to learn from her every single day. I’m inspired by her ability to give, even when she’s going through something hard.”

Beatrice also went on to praise her ‘formidable’ grandmother, the Queen, saying that she feels ‘lucky’ to have her as a role model.

Sarah ‘Fergie’ Ferguson, or the Duchess of York, wed Prince Andrew in 1986. The pair went on to welcome daughters Beatrice and Eugenie (now 27), before divorcing in 1996.

The pair have always remained on good terms however, with Fergie even describing Andrew as her ‘best friend’.

In an interview with the Australian media last year, the 58-year-old set tongues wagging when she admitted: “We’re divorced from each other right now, [but] we’ve never really left each other.”
