One very proud father delighted fans of the royal family this weekend when he gave an insight into the progress being made by his children, Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella.

Speaking ahead of the principality National Day on November 18th, Albert II, Prince of Monaco gushed as he chatted about the special milestones being made by his beautiful 11-month-old twins.

Like any proud father, he delights in the progress being made by the infants he shares with wife, Princess Charlene, saying: "They are beginning to take their first steps and trying to say little bits of words."

According to their father, the children, who made their highly-anticipated arrival on December 10th last year, are an enthusiastic and inquisitive pair.

Sharing an insight into his childrens' worlds, Prince Albert continued: "They really want to express themselves and I speak to them in French. In everyday life, they are very playful and curious."

Delighting fans of the royal family, Prince Albert II revealed that his children are likely to join in the upcoming celebrations, asserting: "They will be with us on the balcony for the national holiday, if it isn't too cold."

On account of the horrifying events which unfolded in the French capital at the weekend, celebrations of the National Day will be relatively low key, with flags being flown at half mast from official buildings.
