Our Saturday nights haven’t been the same since Strictly Come Dancing ended. We miss the glitz and the glamour, the extravagant dance numbers, the judges' arguments, we even miss Anton Du Beke.

The show never failed to warm our hearts on Saturday evenings, it has a major feel-good factor that is simply infectious.

The show has been running for quite some time now since 2004 to be exact, and there have been many changes throughout the years.

The costumes have improved since season one, the routines are bolder and more daring, and the judging panel has been switched up many times since that first episode.

We were devastated when the wise and wonderful Len Goodman retired from the series and gave up his role as head judge. During the season 15 opening show, we couldn’t help but feel like something was missing, especially the way Len yelled ‘seven’ when delivering the dancers scores.

However, we quickly warmed to the new head judge, The Queen of Latin herself, Shirley Ballas. The ballroom dancer’s years of expertise won the audience over, and her comments were genuinely helpful.

Fans of the popular BBC show will be thrilled to hear that she will be returning for season 16 of the show.

According to reports, Shirley is thrilled to continue as a head judge. She was made for the role. The head judge said she thoroughly enjoyed her first series of Strictly Come Dancing.

The sixteenth series of Strictly Come Dancing will air this Autumn.
