Where can I bring my preschooler and her friends for her birthday party?

Many parents like to host their child’s birthday party outside of the house. It saves them having to organise a lot of games and activities and it also means no cleaning up after!

Play Centre:
A popular choice for birthday parties are play centres. Most towns will have some kind of children’s play centre and many of these centres do special deals for birthday parties. Some centres provide party food but for other’s you will have to supply the food and cake yourself. Many of these centres also have cafes, so you and a few other parents can sit back and relax while the kids run around and entertain themselves.

Petting Farm:
Petting farms are a great option for a birthday party. The children will love to see the goats, donkeys, pigs, swans and ducks. They will even get to pick up little animals like rabbits, chicks, kittens and puppies. Petting farms often have pony rides and playgrounds so there are plenty of fun things to keep them entertained. Check if you are aloud to bring food for a party and if so, where they can all sit down and eat.

Teddy Bear Picnic:
This is a really cute idea that young preschoolers ages 3 and 4 will love. If the weather is meant to be nice then bring the kids to the park and ask them to bring their favourite teddy. These picnics will take a lot of organising as you will have to bring the food and the cake and organise games, so ask a few parents to come along and help out. You can probably play most of the regular party games in the park such as pass-the-parcel and three-legged races. Make a big check list of everything you need a few days beforehand. Make sure to include everything from plasters to candles and matches to a rubbish bag. Leaving the house means you will need to be extra prepared!

Swimming Pool:
Most public swimming pools will accept children’s parties. You won’t need to bring much – just ask the other parents to make sure their child has everything they need. Many swimming pools have children’s areas, slides and water toys for the kids to play with. Check with the pool if you’re allowed to bring a ball for some games. Once again ask a few parents to come along and help out and make sure that all the kids have armbands for safety. Some pools have facilities to accommodate parties and will have an area to eat afterwards.

Cooking party:
There are cookery schools for kids that take birthday parties. This is a really fun and different idea for a party. Although this could be an expensive option, some schools will do special deals for parties. Check to see how many children they will take and what food they will be making. Some schools will have pizza parties or cupcake parties.
