Imaginosity is a children’s museum that encourages creativity while keeping them entertained. There is an art studio, nine exhibit galleries, a theatre and a performance space. The building itself is very impressive and will certainly inspire the children as they paint in the art studio. They can also try out some acting in the theatre or go to ‘work’ in the ‘Construction Company’ with yellow hard hats and plastic tools. There is also a space for smaller children under 3. Imaginosity is located in Dublin in the Sandyford Industrial estate. Visit www.imaginosity.ie
The Ark is a custom-built Children's Cultural Centre with programmes that promote and host high quality cultural work by children, for children and about children. It is packed with events for kids, with activities ranging from music, visual art, theatre and even architecture. The Ark is suitable for children between 3 and 14 years. It's located in Dublin City Centre at Temple Bar. Visit http://www.ark.ie/
The National Museum of Ireland hosts a ‘Babies on Board’ tour which welcomes parents with young babies and toddlers. While these tours are aimed at adults (so there would be no benefit in bringing an older child), they allow new mums to enjoy some culture without worrying about their baby making too much noise. Parents, grandparents or minders are encouraged to bring babies in buggies on the guided tour. Visit www.museum.ie/
The National Art Gallery offers a similar service. They hold a ‘new parents guided tour’ once a month. These tours are for all parents, guardians and carers of infants and children. Tours take place on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 2pm and are buggy friendly. Visit http://www.nationalgallery.ie/
