Raise funds for Children’s Health Ireland with by hosting ‘Trick or Treat for Sick Children’ this year

National broadcaster and mum-of-one, Alison Curtis, has returned to launch the annual Trick or Treat for Sick Children, a fundraising campaign for Children’s Health Foundation, as proudly supported by MiWadi. Alison was joined by former Children’s Health Ireland patient Katie Whitty (aged six) to kick off this year’s campaign which raises vital funds for sick children in Crumlin, Temple Street, Tallaght and Connolly hospitals, and urgent care centres.

Children’s Health Foundation is calling on individuals, families, community groups, schools and more to embrace their inner monster and host a Trick or Treat party while signing up for a party pack at www.childrensheath.ie/trickortreat. Whether it’s big or small, you can host a monster ball of your own in your home, school or community centre all while raising funds for a great cause.

Celebrating its 11th year of the partnership, Trick or Treat for Sick Children as supported by MiWadi has helped raise over €3.5m to date. This year Alison Curtis was joined by Katie Whitty from Wexford, to launch the ‘Monst-a-matic Trick or Treat’ Vending Machine - a vending machine with a twist! Popping up on Dundrum Town Centre on Thursday, 5th October, the ‘Monst-a-matic Trick or Treat’ Vending Machine will come alive to surprise and delight with tricks & treats, while giving people an opportunity to sign up for a party pack. Created with children in mind, a friendly monster will provide entertainment – whether it’s handing out a treat or performing a fun party trick that can be replicated at Trick or Treat parties.

The ‘Monst-a-matic Trick or Treat’ Vending Machine will pop up for one day only in Dundrum Town Centre on Thursday, 5th October, from 3 – 7pm, so MiWadi is inviting families to come down to get into Halloween spirit and register for a Trick or Treat party pack.

Speaking at the launch of ‘Trick or Treat for Sick Children’, Hugh Kane, Interim Chief Executive Officer at Children’s Health Foundation said: “We’re delighted to launch the 11th annual Trick or Treat for Sick Children, an initiative that raises vital funds for Children’s Health Foundation Ireland hospitals and urgent care centres at Crumlin, Temple Street, Tallaght and Connolly. We are so grateful to families, schools and communities who get behind the campaign and host their very own Halloween parties to raise these much-needed funds. Thank you to MiWadi for their support of over a decade and for sharing our vision to give every sick child the very best chance.”

Caroline Hyde, Marketing Manager, MiWadi, Britvic Ireland commented: “We are so proud of our Trick or Treat partnership and how support for the campaign has grown over the past 10 years. Each year we build on previous successes to try and make Trick or Treat for Sick Children the best it can be for the children and families who need the services the of Children’s Health Foundation. We want to thank everyone who’s supported the initiative over the past number of years and encourage even more participants this year to host a monstrously fun Halloween party of their own.”

Speaking at the launch of the 2023 Trick or Treat for Sick Children campaign, Alison Curtis said: “I’m honoured to be asked back again this year to be a part of the Trick or Treat campaign and contributing to raising awareness and funds for the extraordinary work carried out in the Children’s Health Foundation every day. I urge anyone who is in position to do so to register for a party pack and host a Trick or Treat party to support the children who are facing great challenges so early in life.”
