Ryan Thomas and Lucy Mecklenburgh revealed they were expecting their first child together over the weekend and it’s safe to say their families are overjoyed by the news, especially one very special member.
Ryan’s 10-year-old daughter Scarlett, whom he shares with actress Tina O’ Brien, burst into tears when her dad told her the news.
The actor posted a video of the moment Scarlett found out on his Instagram. He wrote, “....when Scarlett found out she was going to have a little brother or sister.”
In the video, Ryan, Lucy, Scarlett and their family are posing for a photograph when the dad gives his daughter a box. A balloon floats out of the box that says ‘You’re going to be a big sister.’
Scarlett burst into tears as she read the message on the balloon. The little girl quickly cuddled Ryan and Lucy as the wonderful news sunk in.
The emotional video will certainly bring a tear to your eye.
Ryan and Lucy confirmed they were expecting their first child together on August 24.
Lucy shared a photo of the pair holding up a onesie on her Instagram. The mum-to-be can be seen holding her growing baby bump in the beautiful snap.
She captioned the photo, “Best birthday present I’ve ever had. Love you, Ryan Thomas.”
The Only Way Is Essex star is just over 12 weeks pregnant, which means she’ll be welcoming her baby boy or girl next spring.
There’s no doubt Scarlett is going to be the greatest big sister when her little sibling arrives next year.
