Congratulations to Serena Williams and her entrepreneur fiancé (now husband) Alexis Ohanian, who tied the knot on Thursday!

Their New Orleans wedding was Beauty and the Beast themed, and it sounds absolutely enchanting. The couple shared all of the wonderful details with Vogue.

The tennis star and Reddit founder met in Rome at the Cavalieri Hotel. Serena was having breakfast with her friends, and Alexis was dining solo as he worked on his laptop.

They came from very different worlds, but the two just clicked.

The athlete and the tech whiz got engaged in December of last year, and he proposed at the same place where they first met.

Serena gave birth to their first child together, little Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr., on September 1 this year.

The two settled on November 16 for their wedding date in honour of the groom’s mother. Her birthday is that same day, and she died nine years ago.

The guest list for the big day itself was so star-studded the wedding may as well have been in space; Beyoncé, Kim Kardashian West, and Ciara all numbered among the attendees.

Like any good Disney princess, Serena has an adorable animal sidekick. One of her bridesmaids carried her trusty Yorkshire terrier, Chip, down the aisle dressed in his own mini tuxedo.

Serena wore a ball gown fit for a princess, and she told Vogue, “I loved the idea of doing a really spectacular ball gown, and it has turned out to be such an incredibly special piece.”

The couple wrote their own vows – and what Alexis said brought tears of joy to our eyes.

“You are the greatest of all time, not just in sport. I’m talking about as a mother and as a wife,” Vogue reported he said, “I am so excited to write so many more chapters of our fairy tale together. And my whole life I didn’t even realize it, but I was waiting for this moment.”

They’re too cute!

The newlyweds’ first dance was to ‘Tale as Old as Time’, which then turned into ‘If I Can’t Have You’.

If it isn't obvious yet, Serena loves Disney, so her wedding planner incorporated it into every detail of the big day, including the opulent reception. There were even whimsical chandeliers in birdcages!

At the end of the evening, Alexis surprised his new wife with something spectacular – a carousel all in white!

The night sounds like an utter fantasy. Congrats again to Serena and Alexis!
