Earlier this morning, we shared the wonderful news that actress Suranne Jones has welcomed her first child, and now we are pleased to announce that another star has joined the ‘first mums’ club!
We’re sending huge congratulations today to Scottish singer Sandi Thom, who has welcomed a son with husband Matt Benson.
The singer, best known for her hit I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker, took to her social media channels this morning to break the wonderful news.

Posting a series of photos of the family, she wrote: “So proud to say this week our little boy arrived into the world. Weighing in at 9lbs 15oz!”
Sandi’s post comes just over a week after she tweeted a photo of her blossoming baby bump, revealing that she had turned down the option of being induced.
“Still here!! Said no to induction. Baby will come when Baby is ready!” she tweeted at the time.
No baby name has been revealed as of yet, but we will update you as soon as more information is released.
It has been an exciting few months for Sandi and Matt, who got engaged just three weeks after first meeting, in 2015. They tied the knot last September, sharing their baby news during the wedding speeches.
