Síle Seoige shares heartfelt moment when son Cathal bonds with newborn Clionadh

Irish broadcaster Síle Seoige has opened up about the struggle that comes with going from one child to two, and we can certainly relate!

Taking to social media this morning, the 42-year-old gaeilgeoir opened up about a special moment between her four-year-old son Cathal and her nearly six-week-old baby girl Clíonadh, a moment which just about makes up for all those sleepless nights.

“Cathal (4) reading a bedtime story to his baby sister Clíodhna (5.5 weeks),” she explained in the caption alongside an adorable clip of little Cathal sweetly reading to his baby sister, who was laying down peacefully in her bassinet.

As mums, there really is nothing better than seeing the love your children have for one another.

“It's spontaneous moments like these that make the exhaustion all worthwhile,” Síle noted, adding, “I had been holding Clíodhna and then put her into her bed when she woke (which often happens) so Cathal, of his own accord said he'd read her a bedtime story to get her off to sleep again.”

“This was one of three books that were read. Grá mo chroí sibh,” the Irish presenter lovingly wrote.

It would seem we weren’t the only ones who couldn’t cope with the cuteness, as Síle’s Instagram post was soon flooded with comments.

“What a great storyteller Cathal is!!! That is precious,” one follower gushed.

“My adjusting hormones are not able for this level of adorableness!!” another new mum wrote in the comment section.

“That’s the most adorable thing,” a third sweetly wrote, adding, “what a wonderful big brother”.

Síle welcomed the birth of her second child Clíonadh on November 11, with partner Darren by her side. Announcing the special news, Síle said, “We arrived home yesterday and Cathal has taken to the role of big brother brilliantly. Trying to soak up every euphoric and exhausting second while we can and feeling beyond thankful that she's here.”
