We won’t let it.
You’ve watched them gazing into each other’s eyes, you’ve seen them out and about with their kids looking so perfectly happy – they can’t break up. It would just be wrong.
So we’re launching a mission to get Ben and Jennifer together. This is just a bump in the road and we’ll get them over it.
You may think that we at MummyPages HQ are completely in denial or losing our minds (it’s the sleep deprivation), but we’re going to fight for this relationship. The world needs Bennifer!
Tom and Katie broke up and we all cheered Katie on. Chris and Gwyneth broke up and we spent several weeks making jokes about ‘conscious uncoupling’. But this? This is different.
We don’t know them and our lives won’t be directly affected by this, but if they divorce, it’s has to be the start of dark times. Sign of the apocalypse, winter is coming, etc, etc.
So we’ve compiled this list of reasons why Ben and Jennifer must plead temporary insanity and change their minds.
We're completely positive that they will see this, realise their mistake and get back together...
1. Remember when Ben dated JLo and everyone just felt a little sorry for him? Then they broke up and then he met Jennifer and everything just slotted into place. Because they made sense.
2. Ben and Jennifer were incredibly relatable people. Super-talented, incredibly attractive, really rich relatable people. But when they’re not making blockbuster movies and walking red carpets, they really do seem like a normal family, taking their kids to school and grabbing ice-cream in the park.
3. That brings us on to how much we loved the fact they were really hands-on with their kids and were never afraid to get stuck in.
4. As well as being inspirational parents, they were also an inspirational couple. Remember how strong and supportive they always were to each other, like when Ben went through a career slump and Jennifer never lost faith in his talents and abilities?
5. There’s also the fact the Bennifer was such an important part of all our lives. With people splitting up and getting divorced all over the place, they were the one stable couple that gave us hope!
6. And speaking of Bennifer, wasn’t that just a ready-made, meant-to-be couple’s name?
7. But really they just seemed so in love in a very real way. Not like those ‘for the cameras’ Hollywood couples.
8. We loved that Jen rocked Mom Jeans on a daily basis like nobody’s business and Ben was totally fine with that.
9. And every time you saw them out with their children you thought, this is what a strong, close family looks like.
10. But of course, the real reason they have to stay together centres around that time that Ben talked about Jennifer in his acceptance speech and the whole world gave a collection sigh and said: “Yes, that is what true love looks like.”
But all jokes (*cough*) aside, we really are so sad to hear about Jennifer and Ben’s divorce. It’s always a tough decision to make and one that affects every single family member. Our thoughts are with them all at this time and we know both parents will do everything they can to help their three lovely children through this hard time.

We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children whose privacy we ask to be respected during this difficult time. This will be our only comment on this private, family matter. Thank you for understanding."
