Not everyone was such a fan of Cheryl and Liam’s choice of moniker for their baby son, but we reckon they have chosen the perfect middle name for their little bundle of joy.
According to a fan who met doting new dad Liam in Boston this week, the baby’s full name is Bear Grey Payne.
One Direction fan Jackie took to Twitter to share the update, revealing: “Liam told us Bear’s middle name! It’s Grey! Bear Grey Payne!”
Needless to say, the One Direction and Cheryl fandom went into overdrive at the revelation, and didn’t waste any time in asking Jackie for more details.
“He just talked about letting Cheryl name him and that when he looks at him now, ‘he’s definitely Bear’. And that his middle name is Grey,” she tweeted.

Liam is currently touring the US, on the promotional trail for his debut solo single, Strip That Down.
At a press conference last week, the 23-year-old confirmed that it was former X Factor judge Cheryl who chose their son’s name.
At a meet-and-greet for B96 Radio, he apparently said that while he is into more traditional names, Cheryl had her heart set on an ‘outlandish, unique’ moniker – and he didn’t object, as Cheryl was ‘the one doing the work’.
Baby Bear entered the world on March 22, with the news of his birth announced on Instagram by the proud parents.
“We are all madly in love and overwhelmingly happy with our little arrival. Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers around the world. A day that now has a different meaning to me forever,” gushed Cheryl, at the time.
Meanwhile, Liam paid tribute to his other-half in a similar Instagram post: “I’m completely in awe of [Bear’s] incredible mother and how she has been the whole way through this, she’s really made my dreams come true.”
Unlike celebs like Amy Childs, apparently we won’t be getting a glossy magazine spread introducing Bear Grey to the world – but we’ll be happy enough just to hear the couple’s loved-up insights into new parenthood.
