This was the case for one American family, who have taken the internet by storm this week thanks to a heartwarming father-son prank.
YouTube user FPSGamer took to the video site to share a brilliant video he put together, showing how he got his own back on his father for a 'prank' he played on him eight years ago.
The original footage shows the 16-year-old celebrating his birthday, opening what he believes to be an Xbox from his parents. However, after opening up the box, he had to keep going through packages until he finally found the real present - the key to his first car.
Eight years later, FPSGamer and his brothers decided to pull the same prank on their father. Using the old Xbox packaging and all of the same bits and bobs the teen had found on his birthday, they put together a very special Christmas box for their father.
The resulting footage is brilliant, and it will definitely bring a smile to your face on this miserable day.
