The devastated parents of a little boy who died in a baby swing have warned other parents not to leave their children unsupervised.

Dad Jeremy Rainsford strapped son Kayden, three months, into a freestanding swing after feeding and burping him.

He then left the room for five to 10 minutes.

He was horrified to find Kayden pale and unresponsive when he returned, and called an ambulance.

Kayden was rushed to hospital but sadly passed away later that evening.

While Kayden's parents suspect the tot choked on his own vomit in his sleep, a forthcoming autopsy will confirm the exact cause of death.

Kayden's heartbroken mum Emma Granger issued a warning to other parents about leaving young children unattended.

"Don't leave your children to sleep in those swings, and don't leave them in there unsupervised for too long," Ms Granger told The West Australian.

"We want to help other parents realise that it just takes five minutes to turn around or walk out and a child is gone.

"I want to stop this from happening to other people."

The couple had received the baby swing as a gift when their older son Tyler was born.

A GoFundMe has been set up to cover the costs of the funeral.
