We were shocked recently when a 16-year-old Mississippi woman was charged with the murder of her stillborn child after taking cocaine during her pregnancy.

Now, singer Courtney Love has admitted to using heroin while pregnant with her now 22-year-old daughter, Frances Bean.

The controversial singer, whose drug problems have been widely publicised throughout her career, made the shocking revelation during the filming for a new documentary on her late husband, Kurt Cobain.

Appearing in the footage for Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck, the 50-year-old admitted to using the Class A drug while she was expecting, but says that she 'knew the baby would be fine'.

“I used it once, then stopped. I knew she would be fine,” said Love.

The upcoming documentary film is set to follow Cobain’s early years before his success as the lead singer and guitarist with grunge band Nirvana, including his struggles with becoming a parent.

Elsewhere in the footage, Cobain opens up on his fears for his young daughter, admitting to the camera: “I don’t want her to be screwed up.”

While Courtney is known for her shocking revelations, this is particularly frightening and disturbing.
