As events from this week proved for this family, social media is not always your friend – but at times it can be the perfect place to share joyful updates and mark special occasions, judgment-free.
This was the case for doting mum Hilaria Baldwin this weekend, as she took to Instagram to mark her daughter Carmen’s second birthday.
Sharing a beautiful photo of her little one cuddled into her, the yoga instructor and fitness fanatic wrote: “My baby is 2 tomorrow…maybe if I just stare at her all night, she’ll slow down growing up. #DontWantToMissAMoment.”
Hilaria’s followers were quick to send their own loving messages to Carmen, with fans taking a decidedly kinder approach than earlier this week.
The mother-of-two, who welcomed son Rafael earlier this summer, was left feeling frustrated when followers criticised her over the help that she and husband Alec receive with raising their little ones.
It all started off quite innocently, with The Departed star Alec taking to social media to thank the women who have helped care for his children. However, after naming five women in the post, a number of media outlets falsely reported that the couple have five nannies on the go all at once.
Admitting that she was “hurt” by the implication that she was a “lazy mum”, Hilaria went on insist that the couple do not have five nannies and ask followers for a little compassion.
Happy birthday to Carmen; we have no doubt that she will have a wonderful day.
