While we like to think that the I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! stars are heading to the jungle for an adventure, it’s safe to say most are in it to give their career a boost.

However, one contestant who doesn’t care about his career or even the money is footballer Kieron Dyer, who will be donating his fee to The Jude Brady Foundation.

Dyer became a patron of the charity, which helps ill children in Suffolk as well as highlighting the issues around neonatal deaths, after being introduced to its founder, Peter Brady. The 36-year-old’s brother was stillborn, so the charity is very close to his heart.

Brady revealed that the former Newcastle and England midfielder never mentioned anything about his planned donation, and was shocked when news emerged.

"He gave us no indication at all. He is a patron of the charity, and has been for a number of years, doing countless things behind the scenes, but this is one that has hit the headlines,” the founder told The Ipswich Star.

Talking about his incredible gesture, the star said: "I am very competitive. But I am not going on the show for money. My fee is going to a charity. I am doing this show for the charity and my children. I see the show can revitalise people’s careers, but if someone in the camp wants to further their career in the media, I would rather they win than me.”

While the amount of the donation has yet to be revealed, Brady hopes it will kick-start a plan to build a special ward for parents who have lost a baby.

"A goal that we would like to achieve for a four or five year plan would be to create a ward somewhere if anyone has lost a baby, they can go and deliver it privately. That is a long term goal but Kieron’s donation may kick-start that.”
