Following widespread reports that tennis ace Andy Murray and his wife, Kim Sears, are expecting a baby, the Scot’s dad has spoken out to share his joy.
Gushing over the news to local media, 60-year-old Willie Murray said: “It’s terrific news. Once Andy and Kim knew that the scan had gone okay and the baby was alright, then they were happy to let close family and some friends know…everyone is thrilled for them.”
Looking forward to welcoming a new addition to the family, Willie added: “Andy and Kim will both make great parents, and I can’t wait to be a grandfather – babysitting and all! I don’t mind if it’s a boy or a girl – all we are hoping for is a healthy baby, and I know that’s what Andy and Kim will be praying for as well.”
Andy and Kim wed back in April, at Dunblane Cathedral, having been together for 10 years. Their wonderful baby news was announced earlier this week.
