We all love adventures with the kids – don’t we?

Well, most of the time. Maybe not so much when it’s lashing rain and they’re in wellies and we’re wishing just this once they’d opted for the alternative indoor activities we suggested (what’s not to love about sock sorting?)

But much as we love this muddy-puddle adventure that is life with kids, there are times when we want to be grown-ups, having grown-up adventures. Sometimes we want to be the one wearing the wellies, dancing in a field; lost in music - not chores and responsibilities. We want to be in a place where we can close our eyes and be transported back to a time when our only concern was what the next song would be.

And maybe we can.

Festivals are for everyone, and this very much includes mums - especially those of us who filled 90s dance-floors belting out If Ya Gettin’ Down and Bring It All Back and wishing we had Rachel Stevens’ hair - even though she isn't even in the new S Club.  This September in Stradbally, Electric Picnic is reigniting all things 90s with the ultimate Throwback Stage. It’s all thanks to Electric Ireland, the official energy partner of Electric Picnic, who are bringing 90s nostalgia right back to us in the form of 90s chart sensations 5ive and S Club Party. We’re singing Everybody Get Up in a loop, just thinking about it.

During the day, Electric Ireland’s Throwback Stage will be screening some old school movies including Police Academy, Clueless and Dumb and Dumber with family-friendly activities and the best poptastic throwback tunes to bop along to.

And it gets even better – you can be in with a chance to win FREE tickets to Electric Picnic courtesy of Electric Ireland Rewards just by signing up and entering our competition on electricirelandrewards.ie or clicking into Facebook on August 23rd at 8pm where broadcasting legends Don Conroy and Dustin the Turkey will be guestson the ultimate Facebook Live game show - the ‘Electric Ireland Throwback Show’. The show will feature a number of 90s nostalgia related games, so tune in to win tickets.

Electric Picnic, famous for its laid-back vibe, sees tens of thousands of picnickers descend on Stradbally every September for an eclectic mix of music, arts, and food. You can even bring the family – Soul Kids is a specially designed children’s area for people with family passes, and there are lots of fantastic workshops on offer this year from This is Seaweed, Kids Art World, Flower Garlands and The Big Dig, plus foraging sessions with Forest School Crafts.

But if you want some festival adventures that are just for you, steal their wellies, go it alone, and bring it all back to a simpler time.  (And we still want Rachel Stevens’ hair.)
