The Beckhams are in hot water with fashion designer Stella McCartney after David posted a group photo which included Stella’s youngest daughter Reiley Willis to his Instagram account.
Reiley was among the guests at a tea party thrown at Buckingham Palace which coincided with little Harper’s sixth birthday on July 10.
The shot shows Harper and her friends in fancy dress alongside Princess Eugenie.
“Lucky Harper, getting to meet a real life princess,” David wrote in the caption for the adorable photo. However, Stella wasn’t quite so impressed, according to The Sun.
A source close to Stella said: “Stella is spitting feathers about it because she always tries to keep her kids out of the public eye and never posts about them on her own social media accounts.
“She is especially furious because she has an OBE and has nothing but respect for the royal family. She hoped no-one would notice it was Reiley and has outlined the rules to her staff.”
Reiley and Harper have become firm friends after their fashionista mums introduced them to each other. Victoria Beckham struck up a friendship with Stella in 2010 when David hired her husband Alasdhair Willis as a style consultant.
However, the families’ friendship could now be jeopardised due to this photo which has had over 800K likes on Instagram.
The photo also had some people wondering how the Beckhams had managed to arrange a party in Buckingham Palace.
After sharing photos with Harper and his mother inside the royal grounds, David later took to Instagram to clarify the nature of the event.
"Just to be clear this wasn't the palace opening the gates for Harper's birthday party, this was a tea party where we and other guests were invited so it was a beautiful thing to do with my mum, Harper, plus a few school friends,” he insisted.
Yep, just a casual afternoon tea party at the palace!
He also sent a sweet message to the little girl to celebrate her birthday.
“Happy Birthday to our special little young lady ...Such a special girl who brings so much joy and happiness into our lives... Happy sixth birthday ( I can't believe you’re six already ) have the most amazing day we love you, pretty lady,” he wrote alongside a photo of him cuddling Harper.
It looks like Harper had an incredible birthday – we’re quite jealous!
