While some firemen have been fighting fires at work, it seems others have been starting a few of their own in the bedroom.

Nine firefighters welcomed newborn babies into their families within the span of one year - all of which work at the same fire station.

The fathers claimed they had not coordinated the baby boom but had fun showing off their little ones to the camera.

The baby’s mums, who opt to be called the ‘fire wives’, decided that a proper photo shoot was in order

Most of the babies are dressed to match their daddies in uniform navy blue and red bows or bandannas.

Of the nine newborns, there are three boys and six girls, making the girls the majority of the new crew.

Lieutenant Kevin Doherty, who is pictured with his four-month-old Declan Stephen, told Fox News that the phenomenon was documented by their wives.

“We give our wives all the credit for the photo shoot. They did all the logistics and the planning and we men just had to show up.

“Most of us grew up together and we’re all starting families at the same time. We don’t just work together, we live together,” he explained.

“I’m a second-generation firefighter. My father, my uncle, my brother and my cousin are all firefighters. I grew up in a firehouse and I’m looking forward to my son growing up in a firehouse too.”

It is so sweet that the families are all so close and get to share their own small parenting community together.
