As all you mums out there will know only too well, it’s called ‘labour’ for a very good reason!
And while we can appreciate the often traumatic experience that a fellow mother goes through, the men in our lives can also be majorly impacted by simply bearing witness.
This turned out to be the case for Emmerdale actor Kelvin Fletcher, who has heaped praise on wife Eliza Marsland following the birth of their daughter.
Baby Marnie was born in August, after a 30-hour labour, and Kelvin is totally in awe of his other half.
In an interview with OK!, the 32-year-old revealed: “Liz had to have a blood transfusion, but she was so brave. Seeing Liz go through a traumatic birth made me look at her in a different light.”
“I have the utmost respect for her, and my love for her has gone up tenfold, and in a different way, too; there’s a bond that’s created instantly, and I’m indebted to Liz forever for bringing Marnie into the world. It’s a miracle,” he gushed.
The couple, who described Marnie as a ‘little angel’, also revealed that they are looking forward to adding to their brood in the future.
What a total sweetheart.
