Heidi Klum has opened up about the challenges of her children using social media.

The supermodel mum-of-four discussed how she moderates her children’s online accounts in an interview with Stylist magazine.

Heidi said from time to time, she has had to veto “unwise” photos which her children want to post online to impress others.

“They want to post certain images on social media and they say to me, ‘it would get so many more likes’, she explained.

“I explain to them that people can like you for wrong reasons and a picture is not important. I’m teaching them that it’s more important to be respected”.

The iconic German model is mum to four children, Helene, 13, from her relationship with Flavio Briatore and Henry, 11, Johan, 10 and Lou, seven, from her marriage to singer Seal.

It’s not the first time Heidi has expressed concerns about her kids and technology.

In a previous interview, Heidi said that she has banned her own kids from watching TV for long periods and encourages them to play outside as much as possible.

Heidi said: “I’m old-fashioned, and I feel like technology ran away with everything. I don’t believe in setting your kids in front of something, always.

"I think that they have to do things with their hands and they have to get dirty, and they should be outside, play with the dogs, or think of something to do”.

While Heidi occasionally shares photos of her children online, she strives to keep their faces out of the shot and covers them with an emoji to give them a little privacy.

The model has been busier than ever lately as she teamed up with German supermarket Lidl to launch her own range of clothing.

The theme of the collection is called “Heidi and The City,” and will feature key pieces like tan suede jackets and leopard-skin ankle boots.

The casual wear collection is inspired by the supermodel’s favourite city New York and prices start from €5.
