This former Strictly Come Dancing contestant could replace Darcey as a judge

The upcoming series of Strictly Come Dancing won’t air until the autumn but that doesn’t mean we’re not excited about it. We already can’t wait to find out who will be taking part and who will be the fourth judge.

Eager fans of the dance show have been itching to find out who will be replacing Darcey Bussell, who announced she had quit the show earlier this year.

The ballet extraordinaire’s replacement has yet to be confirmed, but one former contestant has been tipped as a favourite.

McFly drummer and former Strictly Come Dancing champion Harry Judd is reportedly in talks with the BBC about joining the show as a judge this year.

A source told The Sun, “Strictly bosses are desperate to appeal to younger viewers, as they know that is the age group they need to build on.

“Last year that was behind the decision to sign up YouTuber Joe Sugg as a contestant. And Harry has millions of young fans thanks to McFly.

“He is popular, very charismatic and has experience of dancing both on Strictly and in the West End, after appearing in Rip It Up,” they added.

“They know that he would also hit the right note with older audiences as he is very much a family man, he is a dad with two children,” they continued.

It is understood that Harry would be the ideal addition as he has gone through the Strictly experience, just like former judge and Strictly contestant Alesha Dixon.

The source explained: “But he would also bring something to the judging panel that none of the others can, because he has been in the celebrities’ shoes.”

The BBC are still considering who the fourth judge will be but with Harry as a top contender we’re feeling extremely excited about the next series of Strictly.
