If you're finding it hard to manage your energetic, strong-willed toddler, spare a thought for Princess Charlene.

The royal has opened up about life with three-year-old twins, Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella of Monaco.

Spoiler alert: it sounds like organised chaos.

Speaking to the French magazine, Point de Vue, the mum explains how their lives have radically changed since the twin's arrival.

“There are mornings where they sleep a little later than usual and those where they wake up much earlier,” she said.

“At age three-and-a-half, they’re so full of life, to the point that they sometimes seem to me to have too much energy for their age.”

The 40-year-old gave the interview in celebration of her seventh wedding anniversary to Prince Albert, on July 1.

The twins closeness have taken their parents by surprise, as their personalities differ, but they seem to complement each other perfectly.

“We discover them even closer accomplices than we imagined,” Princess Charlene said.

“Jacques is very reserved. He is sure of himself, but he likes to take his time doing things, to observe them, and no one can force him to do anything.”

However, “Gabriella, for her part, is not afraid of anything. With her it is always full steam ahead!”

Speaking of the strength of their bond, it seems like even their parents cannot navigate between them, they are very much a package deal.

“Jacques is the love of Gabriella’s life. Neither Albert nor I can interfere in their relationship. Our children are very independent and always make decisions together. Sometimes they tell us no.”

Parents to twins will always question if what they're doing is right, and the royal couple is no different, Princess Charlene explained:

“In some cases, we wind up questioning ourselves if what we’re doing could be wrong. But Jacques and Gabriella are strong together, and we must accept it.”
