Here are ten fun games you can play with your daughter at a moment’s notice - or even use for a girlie birthday party:
- The Princess Game: Use spare material to dress your daughter up as her favourite Disney princess. The two of you can act out scenes from the movie and sing the songs together.
- Tea Party: This is a classic game that all girls love to play. Set places for your little girl’s teddies and dolls at the table and let her serve her guests tea and imaginary cake.
- Ballerinas: This is a very easy game to set up and one that little girls adore playing. Clear some space in your sitting room, prop a mirror against the wall and put a big, swishy skirt on your daughter.
- Cake Shop: Let your little girl create her own cupcakes from play dough and open up her own bakery in the house.
- The Model Game: Give your daughter free reign of your closet (if you dare) and let her model your clothes. You can pretend to be the photographer and take pictures of her posing.
- Animal Hospital: Your little girl can pretend to be a vet and cure her teddies of their illnesses. All you need is some plasters and bandages (toilet roll can be subbed for actual bandages).
- Dolls: This game is always a winner. The two of you can create stories for her dolls and take them on adventures around the house, using your imaginations.
- Flower Shop: Help your daughter make fake flowers from egg carton cups and twisted paper stems. She can then make pretty bouquets for family and friends.
- Daughter Day Care: Your little girl can run a crèche in the house for her dolls and teddies. She can even invent her own games to entertain her ‘babies’.
- Fairy Garden: Make a fairy garden using a shoebox, pebbles, flowers and sea shells. Add a little jar of glitter to feed the fairies. Put it in a sheltered part of your garden once the weather improves.
