We have heard of mums giving birth in some unusual places, but this report has to be one of the most unusual we have ever come across.
Dublin’s Port Tunnel will forever hold special meaning to one local family, after their baby son was delivered there this week!
According to the Swords Ambulance service, whose crew attended the scene, the tot’s mother was on her way to Holles Street Maternity Hospital when he began making an appearance.
Emergency service responders arrived to assist the mother, and the baby boy was safely delivered shortly after.
Taking to Twitter to share the news, a rep for the Swords Ambulance service wrote: “Swords crews assisted in the delivery [of a] baby boy in the Dublin Port Tunnel yesterday morning while en route to Holles Street.”
“Best wishes to Mum and Baby,” they added.
