He shared his wonderful baby news just a few weeks ago, and according to reports this morning, congratulations are in order for this TV star and his wife.

Irish actor Timothy V Murphy has welcomed his first child, a son, with wife Caitlin Manley. They have named their little bundle of joy Sean Fionn Murphy.

A representative for the actor – best known for his roles in Sons of Anarchy and True Detective – confirmed the lovely news to People magazine last night.

“Caitlin and I are delighted to announce the arrival of our son, Sean Fionn Murphy, into the world on July 22, weighing in at seven-and-a-half pounds,” the actor said.

He added, jokingly: “As Helen Rowland once said, ‘A man’s desire for a son is usually nothing but the wish to duplicate himself in order that such a remarkable pattern may not be lost to the world.’”

The 55-year-old, from Tralee in Kerry, broke his baby news during an interview with Brendan O’Connor on RTÉ Radio 1, back in early June.
