There are certain moments in life you witness that just stop you dead in your tracks and warm your heart, and this was the case for Eumine Choi recently.

Choi was walking in the rain in Queens, New York last week, when he witnessed a beautiful scene that he simply had to capture with his camera.

There, in front of him, walked a businessman holding an umbrella, but soaked to the bone. Why, if he was carrying an umbrella, was he wet? Because he was using it to shield his young son from the rain.

Choi initially captured the photo to show to his friends that night, but decided to share the moment with the world by uploading it to social networking site Reddit. From there, the photo made ripples across the internet and quickly went viral.

In the image's caption, Choi wrote: “Hope the son just grows up to realise how lucky he is…pay it forward.”

Admitting that he is surprised by the reaction to the photo, Choi explained to Yahoo! Parenting why he was so taken by the scene before him.

“The dad was carrying a leather briefcase and some food, and instead of worrying about himself, he gave the umbrella to his son…It was sweet. It reminded me of my dad and all the times he did these kinds of things but I didn’t even realise,” he said.

What a gorgeous story; we're sure it resonates with many dads and kids alike.
