With Princess Charlotte’s christening due to take place in Sandringham tomorrow, details of the special event have been trickling out to the public all week. With confirmation that acclaimed photographer Mario Testino is set to take the photos, another beautiful touch to the ceremony has been revealed.

According to reports today, the latest addition to the Royal family will be christened with water specially flown in from the River Jordan. This is a tradition for royal christenings, with Kate and William opting to do the same for Prince George.

As the place where Christians believe Jesus Christ was baptised, the River Jordan is considered one of the holiest sites in the world, after Bethlehem and Jerusalem.

Princess Charlotte’s baptism will take place in The Lily Font – a small silver-gilt vessel, which is part of the Crown Jewel collection.

Tomorrow’s ceremony is set to be a private affair, and reports today speculate that some members of the Royal family will not be in attendance as a result.

One person who will definitely not be attending is William’s brother Harry, who is currently in Africa carrying out charity work.

We can’t wait for the first sneak peek of the family on their special day.
