A teenager who collapsed during a football match last night, has sadly passed away.
16-year-old Izzy Dezu was playing for Shelbourne in an U-16 league match when he suddenly collapsed after half time.
All attempts were made to revive the teen, including the use of a defibrillator.
Shelbourne FC confirmed the news on Twitter this morning.
"We are heartbroken to have to confirm the news that our Academy U16 player, Izzy Dezu, collapsed and died during a match last night," they wrote.
"The thoughts of everyone at Shelbourne FC are with his family and friends who have been devastated by his tragic loss. May he rest in peace."
