She welcomed her twin bundles of joy into the world last month, and today actress Lucy Pargeter has finally introduced them to the world.
The Emmerdale star, 40, posed up a storm with twin daughters Missy and Betsy, for the latest issue of OK! magazine.
Lucy, who is engaged to long-term partner Rudi Coleano, conceived the twins through IVF and had previously opened up about the tough journey to pregnancy.
In her latest interview, the star revealed that she didn’t utter a word about her treatment at work, and used to inject herself in secret during her lunch breaks.
Now that the girls are here, however, Lucy is only too happy to share her IVF success story – even with her older daughter, 11-year-old Lola.
“Lola is fully aware of it all, so we want to be honest with the girls and let them know how special they are and how much they were wanted, and how easily it could have been that they weren’t here,” explained Lucy.
“Having IVF was hard, but we feel so lucky the girls have come along. I think it’s important to be honest about everything to do with how they got here.”
As for the birth itself, Lucy revealed that it was a planned C-section, as the girls were in breech.
“I wanted to watch the whole thing, but they put up a screen when you’re having a C-section, and it couldn’t be lowered quite enough for me to see. I was gutted I didn’t get to watch them being born,” she added.
Lucy and Rudi announced that they were expecting last October, and went on to reveal the gender of their little tots two months later.
At the time, she said she was ‘over the moon’ just to find out that the girls were both healthy, describing it as ‘the best Christmas present’.
“Two girls are easier – they will be no split car journeys on a Saturday, taking one to football and one to dance class. And clothes sorting will be a lot easier,” she said, looking at the practical side of things!
