We’re sure many of you have dreamed about being George Clooney’s other half, however, none of us have been as lucky as human rights lawyer Amal Clooney, who married the ER star in 2014.

George and Amal are one of the most powerful couples around, but we’ve often wondered about how the pair met.

The actor revealed all in an interview on David Letterman's Netflix show My Next Guest Needs No Introduction.

People have met their true love in their local coffee shop, at college, at the gym, and even on a plane. However, the Oscar winner didn’t even have to leave the house to meet his wife.

George explained that a mutual friend of theirs was visiting his home and wanted to bring a friend along, “I got a call from my agent, who called me and said, 'I met this woman who's coming to your house who you're gonna marry’.”

The dad shared that there were two very special people present on the night he met his true love, “The funniest thing was my mom and dad were visiting, so my parents were there.”

George and Amal clicked straight away and stayed up until the early hours of the morning, “We just talked, and we stayed up all night talking.”

The Descendants actor made sure to ask for Amal’s email address before she left, however, he didn't expect their relationship to flourish the way it did.

The couple began emailing one another, but George thought the barrister just wanted to be friends, “I didn't really know if she wanted to go out with me. I just thought, you know, we were buddies,” the Ocean’s Eleven star admitted.

Despite George’s doubts, the pair went from exchanging emails to becoming parents to twins Ella and Alexander within a few years.

If only we were as lucky!
