Major congratulations are in order as Donal Skehan has become a dad for the first time. The TV chef and his wife Sofie welcomed a baby boy into the world this weekend.
Donal shared the wonderful news on Facebook on Saturday morning. He wrote, “WELCOME TO THE WORLD LITTLE BABY BOY! What a whirlwind.”
The Kitchen Hero author praised his wife who had a natural birth, “ Sofie Skehan rocked it with Swedish Viking strength, for a natural birth, 3 hours in the hospital!”
The new dad couldn’t help but express his love for his wife and baby boy, “I’m so proud and both so grateful- Mommy and the little guy doing great- totally chilled.”
Donal shared that he cannot wait for his new role as a dad, “ [We’re] ready for a whole new world of adventures!”
He described the experience as amazing and said he is in complete awe of both Sofie and their new baby.
Fans were quick to share their congratulations with the new parents. Donal’s social media accounts were flooded with well wishes from his fans.
One wrote, “Congratulations. What a beautiful early Christmas gift.”
Another added, “Congratulations Sofie & Donal! The most precious moment in life! Thank you for sharing!”

We are delighted for Donal and Sofie. We cannot wait to find out what they called their adorable baby boy.
