Why holding on to your travel memories is so essential
Whether it’s a staycation, a weekend away or a trip abroad, nothing beats the excitement of taking a holiday. We take in each moment and capture our memories on our phones and cameras. We share them with friends and family and have them to look back on. It always feels bittersweet when the trip is over, but there are some simple things we can do to relive the memories again.

Now, more than ever, we need to hold onto our travel memories - so here's how.

Printing Photos

Before mobile phones, taking your photos off to get printed felt like an experience in itself. Especially with film, you wouldn’t even know what the picture looked like until it came back! Classic photo albums were a staple in every household and now you can create a photo book online. Simple and hassle free! So why not create a physical reminder that you can flick through, rather than staring at them through a screen? When we return from our travels and we sit down to look at our photos we remind ourselves of the amazing time we had. You could even make the process of creating an album a family affair. As a family you can sit down, and each select your favourite photos from the trip and personalise your album however you wish. These photo books can be stored away, categorised by each destination, and whenever you want to revisit that particular trip then you can just grab one and look through it.

It can be really lovely to reconnect with your family when you come home, share all of your stories, photos and souvenirs with them, and catch up with each other.

Blogging

We don’t have to just share our travel memories and adventures with our friends and family, we can share via blogs for the whole world to see. This can be uplifting and above all inspiring, and can prompt others to know they can do the same thing. . Your experience can help future travellers discover hidden gems, hints and tips to get the best from their trip.

Finding A Community

Sharing our adventures online is also a great way to create connections, both near and far. Social media is a great tool for this. By joining Facebook groups about your chosen destinations, you can find other people who love the area as much as you do. Joining a community of people who love to travel as you do can mean that your memories are just that little bit extra special, and lifelong friendships can be made along the way. You can also get some top tips on destinations you want to visit.

So when it’s time for your next adventure, make sure to bring a camera and journal along. Write everything down and share your experiences with your family and friends, both near and far. You will thank yourself later and enjoy looking back on your time travelling.
